The Ahwahnee Hotel is one of the great lodges of the National Parks. The location was chosen for its' spot in the sun and proximity to some of Yosemite's iconic peaks: Half Dome, El Capitan, and Glacier Point. It was built to house the well-to-do tourists who would spend weeks traveling to visit Yosemite.
